Dopa Word Gacha - data licenses, credits and changes made ========================================================== The card data of this game (data/pool.json, data/rset.json, data/sets.json, data/cards/*.json) is shared as a whole under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0): https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ It is assembled by machine from the public sources below. No AI-generated text is part of the card data; every field carries the source it came from (field "s" in the card files) and the game shows that source next to the text. CHANGES MADE to the source material (CC BY-SA 4.0 / CC BY 4.0 section 3(a)(1)(B)): - selected : only the most frequent English words that have usable data became cards; entries were chosen, not copied wholesale. - filtered : forms and entries without a usable headword, part of speech or sense were left out (inflected forms and spelling variants are only kept as US/UK pairs); senses labelled vulgar, offensive, slur, obsolete, archaic or rare, and translations carrying such labels, were left out; lists were shortened (senses, translations, example sentences). - reformatted: converted from the original dump / database formats into compact JSON shards (cards/NN.json), with the fields renamed and regrouped per word; IPA, translations and glosses are otherwise left as written by their authors (wiki italic markers '' were removed; Chinese translations written "traditional /simplified" were split into the zh-Hant and zh-Hans lists). - frequency banded: wordfreq frequencies were ranked and cut into the seven rarity bands C, UC, R, SR, SSR, UR, LR (rates and Zipf boundaries are shown in the game's "How to play" and in data/pool.json). Draw weights, the American / British word sets (data/rset.json) and trophy sets (data/sets.json) are derived from them. - ATK / DEF / SPD on the cards are game values computed from the data (they are not dictionary data). 1. Wiktionary - https://en.wiktionary.org/ Part of speech, pronunciation (IPA), English definitions, translations, etymology sentences, usage examples and the American / British labels. Extracted from the English Wiktionary dump of 2026-09-02 with Wiktextract by Tatu Ylonen and contributors, as published on Kaikki.org (https://kaikki.org/). Text (c) Wiktionary contributors, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0 (also GFDL). Each word's page is linked from its card (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/#English), where the history of every entry names its authors. Translations marked "reverse lookup" come from the English glosses of Wiktionary's Japanese entries (same dump). 2. wordfreq 3.1.1 - https://github.com/rspeer/wordfreq Word frequencies (Zipf value, occurrences per million words, rank) and therefore the rarity of every card. Robyn Speer, Joshua Chin, Andrew Lin, Sara Jewett, Lance Nathan (Luminoso Technologies). The wordfreq data is licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. wordfreq combines word counts from many sources, among them movie and TV subtitles (SUBTLEX: Brysbaert & New 2009; van Heuven et al. 2014), Wikipedia, news, books, web text, Twitter and Reddit; see the wordfreq README for the full list and its credits. 3. Tatoeba - https://tatoeba.org/ Example sentences containing the word, with their translations where a direct translation exists (English, Japanese files retrieved 2026-10-11; Mandarin Chinese (cmn), French (fra) and Spanish (spa) files retrieved 2026-10-13; only English sentences that name an author and are not in Tatoeba's CC0 list are used; each translation is a sentence directly linked to the English one - links only, no transitive links; Chinese sentences are shown as Tatoeba has them, without converting between simplified and traditional characters; a translation whose Tatoeba entry names no user is shown without a name). Sentences are licensed CC BY 2.0 FR (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/fr/). Every sentence is shown with its author's name and a link to its page (https://tatoeba.org/sentences/show/). The sentences are chosen because they contain the word; the game does not verify that the sense matches, and says so. 4. Open English WordNet 2025 - https://en-word.net/ English definitions that complete the Wiktionary ones where those are missing. CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Based on Princeton WordNet 3.0 (c) Princeton University, and the Global WordNet Association's English WordNet contributors (McCrae et al.). FONTS (fonts/*.woff): subsets of Inter, Lora (both SIL Open Font License 1.1) and DejaVu Sans (Bitstream Vera License, IPA symbols only). The OFL subsets are renamed "Dew Sans" / "Dew Serif" as the licenses require. Full texts: fonts/LICENSE-fonts.txt. MUSIC AND SOUND (audio/*.mp3, sound effects): background music from OpenTracks (formerly DOVA-SYNDROME), https://opentracks.com/ - the tracks are credited in the game's settings. Sound effects are synthesized in the browser. The game's own code and design are not covered by the data licenses above.
